What is Thanksgivukkah? On November 28th 2013, American Thanksgiving will be celebrated along with first day of Chanukah. This once in a lifetime event will not occur again for 70,000 years! Many exciting gatherings are planned around the country to commemorate this unique experience that will creatively combine many of the the symbolic foods, decorations, traditions and music of both holidays.

There are even Facebook and Twitter pages dedicated to this exciting event! Also, a wonderful Thanksgivukkah Menu was created by Buzzfeed including a brined turkey, Challah Apple Stuffing, Sweet Potato Latkes, Pecan Pie Rugelach and more!

Whether or not you celebrate Thanksgiving and Chanukah, it’s fun to learn about the diverse foods and traditions of other backgrounds. So I hope you will take some time to check out these delicious menus and recipes. Perhaps you’ll even find some new favorites that will become part of your own family’s holiday celebrations.
